hi. im gonna buy one or the other, Im seeing the e8400 usualy is stable at 4.2~ and the 8500 at 4.7~ is this true? what are other peoples results? can somone link a benchmark with the 2 overlocked?

The extra .5 multi will not increase your daily settings unless you are:

#1 Limited by your FSB/memory
#2 Have subzero cooling

Realistically, on air or water these chips are identical. When it comes to benching and subzero stuff the .5 can make a difference though.

EDIT: The most you can expect with either chip will be in the 4.1-4.4 range (and 4.4 is kinda high, more like 4.3). Save the money and get the E8400.
