Go to www.rojakpot.com On the left side of the page, click on Article Database. The under Modifications list, there is a listing for an ATI Radeon X800 Voltage Modding Guide Rev 2.0. At the bottom of that page there is a drop down box. You can go straight to the Pencil Method. Actually, it is a good read all the way through. If you have the time and interest, you should read it. This is the guide I have learned from and I have used this method on all of my ATI cards I have owned. Be sure to have a Digital Multimeter handy. You will need it. Good luck.
You know m8, I have heard that there are two reference designs on those XL PCB's. One that is identical to the X800 in the guide link I sent you. And another that is different. One thing you could do is reference your PCB with the pics in the guide. If they are the same, as far as the same electrical component layout, then that guide should work fine. I will do a thorough search for you to see if I can come up with a guide for the other PCB the XL's are using. I would have answered sooner but we had a power outage today and it just came back on.
Also, if you want to speak to the foremost authority on modding ATI Padeon cards, email viperJohn. Check his site out: http://imageevent.com/marginjohn/viperjohn You can email him from that site. I am still planning on sending him my X800XT PE to work his magic on. I hope this is helpful. Good luck
