Was there ever a decision on an efficient water mixture that is suitable for low temps like -20c? Just wodering because I am going to need to know.
 
I was told to use straight windshield fluid (methanol) for really low coolant temps. Haven't tried it yet though.
 
That would probably work, but wouldn't the heat transfer properties suffer hugely? If I remember there used ot be a 60/40 mixture of water to ethanol?
 
well the more alcohol you have to add, the less the charactisitcs of water it will posess. obvisouly.

you should just play with it and find a point where its free flowing.
just dont want it slushy.
 
Ok I'll have to play with the figures. The evap temp will be ~-40, so it may nee more alcohol. What I really need are some damn condensors premade and cap tubes
