get a tornado and do a fan control mod on it and that should make it not as loud

It will still have the whirring noise. Besides, a SFII at full speed is quieter, and cools better than both size Tornados turned down.

I guess you really cant beat the price you pay for the performance.

One of the things I do not like though, is the manual controller is REALLY short, i.e you have to open the case to adjust it if you dont do any mods to it. Thats why I like my YSTech,

its got a 2 foot lead you can attach anywhere outside the case. If you plan to attach the SF II to a bus then I suggest getting it, otherwise the manual control doesnt do you much good if you have to open your case to adjust it.

I would get the smart fan but now you say the cable is kinda short for manual control thats kinda stupid. I'm planning to get a 3.25" variable fan speed controller but I have 4 case fans for them......

Then I have to get Another? just for the CPU fan? thats kinda weird..

Looks alright I guess

My stupid Volcano 7 is acting up so I'm looking at SLK-900U
and a 80mm fan....

Does the SLK go up and down??
or left and right on the motherboard?

Which way is the length facing? the front or the top?

ALSO do you know where to get this
http://www.svc.com/pwmfanco.html

I want one but I need a site with paypal.... for conversion reasons.

Unless I got a baybus, I think I'd put the controller somewhere on the back where only I would look and adjust.

Personally I like the SLK800 or SLK800u better than the 900. Its not as heavy and performs the same, cost less too.

The only advantage the SLK900 has is it can use a 92mm fan I beleive.

As for positioning, it depends on the MB, on my Asus its up and down with length facing the front.

I guess the 800u is cheaper too

and since I want to have variable speed adjust.....

I'd need to use a 80mm fan anyway...

Are there any GOOD 92mm fans? I assume the whirring sound is lower pitched than an 80mm

Im not sure the SLK800u can use a 92mm. You should check that before you start looking at 92mm fans.

Usually Canada is not considered international. However some places only ship to US. You would need to read their shipping methods or give them a call.

man that suxors to the bone....

I'm not calling long distance just to ask.. I emailed other stores but this one still hasn't responded !!!!

Doesn't look like they need more customers eh..

any hurdles to expect...

... since the SF2 Thermaltake is a case and not CPU fan?
Just want to make sure it will fit (somehow ;-) on my SLK 800a
when buying it today!
appreciate comments on that; thx
