Just wanted to show a little log of my lapping job on the h80 and 2600k.

Took about 2.5 hours and 5 different grits of sandpaper.

Used a giant mirror, laying on the floor, and some packing tape to tape the sandpaper squares to the mirror. Then I just sat on the mirror and drank beer while I sanded in straight lines. Count to 30 swipes in one direction, turn 90 degrees, count to 30 again, turn 90 degrees, etc.

When I got to the higher grits I counted to 10 swipes before each 90 degree turn instead of 30.

Forgot to take a before pic of the H80, but everybody knows how bad they look. Deep ridges from the milling.

I will post back whether or not I got a significant temperature drop after I get home. Right now I gotta wash all this copper **** off of me and go party.

Mounted the block several times today and the TIM pattern looks great every time :) Not spotty like before.
