I'm going to start a new thread for that discussion actually.

As far as budget, Im unsure where he lives, so it may or may not be out of budget. 1200USD should still go pretty far...

The initial budget was 700 euros, or ~$850.

Its been discussed... but, feel free. :)

Outside of perhaps RTS games, I rather have a 280x and i5 quad than a 270x and a AMD octo/hex.

I'm probably going with the GPU ATM suggested, the R9 280x xfx version and stick with the FX-6300. I was calculating the wattage that my PSU needed to deliver to supply the entire system when it's running on full load. It said it would use 569W this includes an overclock of the FX-6300, would it be smart to consider buying a 600W+ PSU? If it is what would be the best choice:
Cooler Master V650
Corsair CS650M
Corsair RM650
Seasonic G-Serie 650 Watt

If he's willing to go 850 euro's that opens a lot of doors. But they close pretty quickly if he has to pay a 20% vat or something ridiculous.
That's one of the problems I have encountered every €50 will open a new door to a better component haha.

The cost difference between a 650 and 750 is usually pretty insignificant. I would just go for the extra breathing room myself.

some good ones in the 750 range without breaking the bank and still being pretty reliable choices.

The 550W Seasonic is already overkill on the PSU :)

Zero need, he's good by at least 100W with the 550W unit.
