Which version are you running? You should be able to run it on loop which just keeps it going.
I'm assuming that you've already run some CPU stress tests and eliminated the CPU as the cause of the instability.
Next up is Memtest.
Is there a way to use memtest without a disc? I've tried using my flash drive but it doesn't work.
Shade of grey with vertical white lines sounds much like a vRam instability.
Would Memtest+86 test vRAM as well?
Run PC and physically touch stuff is what I would do. Like video card hot spots. Back of gpu (hot or insanely hot?), back of VRMs (since most are covered. insanely hot?) then touch memory IS video card memory hot?
