Running mixed metals is a no-no
Rads were aluminium.

Rads were aluminium.
I did something similar a couple years back. Used a stock heatsink from a phenom2 940 on a athalon2 x3 that came with one of them junk all aluminum coolers. It worked out just fine also. I still have 2 or 3 of them aluminum coolers laying around unused and have no idea what to use them for, but it seems wastefull to throw away new aluminum.
