Hello All,

I just picked up a pair of G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866MHz upon recommendation of the folks at the computer store I purchase from.

My new build is the following (still have to put it together)

Before anyone comments :) Yes I am fully aware of others feelings on Intel build being faster for single threaded processes... yada yada

I've been running AMD systems since the Tbird 1333mhz and sticking to them ! :)

Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Gigabyte 7950
AMD 8350
Corsair H80i cooler

I will be overclocking and the Corsair Dominator was out of my budget.

Thoughts ? Do I have a chance of hitting 5ghz with this ram ?

AndrewSE, the multiplier on that processor is unlocked, so the speed your memory will run is irrelevant to the final overclock.

It's optimal RAM for this setup but if you wish to overclock something for faster transfers then focus on CPU-NB clock rather than memory clock.
About cpu clock you already got answer so I have nothing more to add ;)
