Hi,
My System Spec is;
MB - Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming-7
CPU - 6700K @stock 4200Mhz
Mem - 2x16GB 3000MHZ F4-3000C15D-32GVR https://gskill.com/en/product/f4-3000c15d-32gvr
GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1
PS - Seasonic 750W Platinum

The system worked without any issue 2.5 years with XMP 2.0 enabled on Bios until recently i had a freeze on BF5 during gameplay and after restart memory speed dropped to 2133 Mhz.
First thing i rebooted into BIOS and noticed that there is no XMP option anymore
After tinkering more i found that only 1 module can be recognized as XMP eligible on BIOS and on CPU-Z or AIDA64 and sometimes the module without XMP appears without proper G.Skill model and just as DDR4 2133 SDRAM.
The good news is that i can easily overclock to 3000 Mhz 1.2V manually on BIOS and run stable even with CPU @4.5Mhz.

My local reseller told me that they don't have exactly this kit anymore and they can replace it with lower speed memory kit 2400/2666 etc....

What should i do? Ask my old kit back and overclock it manually to 3000Mhz without XPM? Or better agree for lower speed replacement?

Thanks

Ask for your RAM back from the reseller, certainly don't accept lower grade memory as a replacement! I'd contact Gskill directly, they will be able help, remember you have a lifetime warranty ;)

Contact Gigabyte and send an RMA request. I just went through that same thing with that same motherboard. They ended up sending me a replacement. Details here https://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/792057-Z170X-Gaming-7 Mine started with SATA issues, but that memory problem (disappearing XMP profile) popped up and Gigabyte said send it in.
All that assuming it's the mobo that lost the XMP profile and not the RAM. Is XMP available with different RAM?

Thanks you for your answer!
Yes the second module is totally fine and have XMP when installed separately, on the service center they also confirmed only 1 defective memory module.
I think i am going to ask my memory back and will contact directly to G.Skill for help, anyway i am not sure if its worth to try and work without XMP on manual overclocking.
