I was thinking your load temps were a little high for that HS. I'm getting better temps than that w/ the stock cooler on my 8800GTS-512. Good work!

Here is my 1st bench mark

3d Mark 06
9402 3DMarks

SM2.0 Score: 4222
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 4935
CPU Score: 1869

My current system specs:
Power Supply: ThermalTake 500watt
Mother Board: MSI 975X Platnium LGA775
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz 1066FSB 2MB
Memory: 4GB Kingmax / Dual-Channel / DDR2 667 (1GB x4)
Hard Drive: Seagate 400GB KS Sata II 7200RPM/16MB
Video Card: EVGA 512MB 8800GTS Crysis Edition (stock speeds)
Operating System: Windows XP Pro SP2
Case: Thermaltake Matrix

3DM05 Score 18567 @ 756 x 1890 / 1062

I'm in the process of testing my memory, up to 1090 with no artifacts, heat problems or errors in the 3DM05 canyon tests.

this card is amazing.

update: Passed 1096, but got a green checker box pattern lock up at 1102, with in seconds of starting the test, had to reboot.

testing 1099 now :)

Hey Viper is that the ram error you warned us about, I'm guessing it is :)

What clock would you run the mem at if you crashed at 1102?

I've been doing these tests with 756/1890 gpu and shader, and plan to raise those clocks too once I finish this last test at 1099 on the mem.

1099 passed, :eek: impressive?

800x 2000 / 1099 actually gave me a lower score in 3DM05 - 18349

why would I lose 200 points from 756 x 1890 / 1062,

my temps have not gone above 42C :0

Here are my results from stock speeds n stock cooler vs OC and HR-03 GT.

Stock (650c / 1625s / 972m): Idle-47 Load-69
3DMark06 12258
2.0 = 5631
3.0 = 5682
CPU = 2794

OC (760c / 1900s / 1062m): Idle-40 Load-59
3DMark06 12815
2.0 = 5797
3.0 = 6229
CPU = 2792

Does this look right? Or is my suspicion of my CPU holding it back correct?

Also the temps look a little high...

That is quite a nice OC for a GT, what is the XFX AD edition?
Did you do a volt mod or something?

Nevermind, you have a GTS, too early for me :)

XFX AD is Alpha Dog Edition. Yea, I reseated my heatsink and the temps went way down. I sit around 34 degrees idle and haven't seen it go above 42 degrees under load.

thats about what I'm getting on mine with the same cooler,

I did just have lotro lock up on me, at 800x 2000 / 1099

after completing several 3dm05 passes with out any trouble... :(

oh well back to the lower speeds I cant mess with this stuff for more then a few hours at a time or i start to go nutty.

Reboot-

The 3Dm05 CF test is really just for the vRAM. You still need to run ATI Tool for a while to make sure your core/shaders are stable.

Yes, the checkerboard thing you saw was the memory avalanche Viper was talking about.

As to why you lost 200 points...it could be a number of factors. Did you reboot between runs? There is also some amount of fudge-factor that has to be accounted for. Try running it a few more times, and see what happens. You could also try reducing the vRAM freq a notch or two, and see what happens to your scores.

which one is the best 3dmark to use? im gettin 06.

what do i use to test stability after overclocking it with riva tuner.

i LOVE THIS CARD

ah i didn't reboot, and i didn't think of ati tool either.

Ill have to check that out next.

Thanks for the help :) :beer:

'06 is what to run to bench the card, but you only need the free version to do that. '03 & '05 are good for specific stability tests on the vRAM for the GT, and GTS respectively. You need the pro version to run loops, though. ATI Tool and various other free tests like the DX9renderer are good to check for core/shader and overall stability.

Edit: Reboot- How can you not remember to reboot w/ a name like that! LOL!

holy smokes... how are you cooling that card? What voltage does it take to hit that speed on the ROPs and shaders?

You do not want to repeat all of the 3DM05 tests. Just Canyon Flight repeated 8-10 times for a GTS's memory.

:eek::drool: damn dude, how did you get an 8800GT up to 900MHz?! which mfg/model is that?

nice one! :thup::attn:

It's called a hell of a lot of Vcore. The 864 ROP GT in my sig was with 1.335 DT idle Vcore.
It to would run 900 ROP core but it took another 1/4 volt of Vcore to do it and that is
pushing things to hard for a 24/7 card. What worse is you do not get that much out of
the higher cores clock due to a lack of memory bandwidth.

Card is watercooled with MCW60 (with an Apogee GT baseplate) and vGPU was 1.61V. It's a basic reference board from a rather unknown brand called "Manli".

I did that first, got up to 1099 with out the error, saw the error at 1102, what should I run the mem at knowing that I got the error almost instantly at 1102?

What I am supposed to do now, is install ati tool and test for overall stability, right?

i pulled a 14,070 in 3DMark06 with 750/1850/1000
Cpu at 3.6Ghz (400x9) Mem @ 1066 5-5-5

Is this about on par with my setup?
