Hello,

I seem to have an issue in getting my Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 into AHCI mode. The rig is the one in my sig below. When I select AHCI in the BIOS the system starts up but freezes and then blue screens at the Windows logo screen. IDE mode works fine though and I just did a BIOS update too. Any ideas?

Thanks

You need to add the ahci driver entry to the registry. Im mobile, so I can't google. But I would search for 'enablethe ahci in windows'.

I will give that a try when I get home. Thank you for the info. :)

EDIT: IT WORKED! :) Thanks again EarthDog you are THE MAN!

I know I am about 8 months late to this thread. But I have the same problem with not being able to use AHCI with a SATA drive in Windows 8.

Would you tell me where in the registry you have to indicate you want to enable AHCI in Windows?

Thanks!
