Yeah, the P35C is a hybrid but the straight P35 is just DDR2.

Interestng that your having trouble with OCing a quad on it pinky33, i dont think iv heard much about anyone else having problems, you tried all the usual things like BIOS updates and trying different voltages etc?

An update on mine, i killed it :(. I didnt insulate it enough aparently, so gigabyte rejected the RMA :(. I bought an abit P35 pro and it seems to be working very well.

hey liftedcj7on44s, it's off topic, but how did you manage to get 3.4ghz on your e6300 with only 1.36v? i can hardly get anything higher than 425FSB (w/ 8x multi)
does higher FSB, lower multi combinations take less voltage? becuae if that's so, i'm gonna re overclock my e6400.

and back on topic, aren't the Ram pins different for ddr2 and ddr3? and how does that board rank against standard ddr2 and ddr3 boards? - any performance loss?

I cant remember what voltage I was using but i got up to 490FSB on my E6300, i think it was between 1.4 and 1.45v.

ans yes DDR2 and 3 use different slots, the P35C has four DDR2 slots and two DDR3 slots, but of course only one set can be used at once.

Sam_
Glad you asked about the bios update.

Ran another bios update(f4a) and running at 3.6ghz now. see how stable it is this time. Still having issues with Vcore fluctuation so I have to set it at 1.74 and watching it drop to 1.68. Still not exactly sure why i need such a high voltage, but if I run less cores fail on prime95. Going to have to work on my temps though......65-69c. Any other idea on what to do or change.

Really wanting to hit 4.0ghz.

thanks again guys.

I dont run 3.4ghz stable. I can get there and play games and what not but prime doesnt run. Now I have Vcore set to 1.4 in bios but CPU-Z reports 1.36. I run 450x7 24hr Prime Stable. Also make sure you're ram timings are set correctly. I had a pain with mine and it ended up being that My Trfc was set too low and now i can get all the way up to 493fsb before it will not post.

I just ordered the P35C-DS3R, no idea what Revision it is.
Just wondering if anyone has seen the Load Calibration option in the Bios (F9 or F10) that it mentions in over at Station drivers, in the bios list. Link provided.
Bios F10
Quote:
* 1. ADD new version super I/O code.
2. Speicheradress BUG beseitigt
3. Loadline Calibration Auto-Disabled-Enabled (nur DS4)
* beta BIOS:update CPU ID
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/gigabyte/ga-p35c-ds3r.htm

I wonder if it's just a miss print or for another DS3 board.

Read the whole thread, Shame to here your board died twice Sam:-/
And Pinky that's some crazy volts your putting through you CPU
Good thread!

Edit: Ah, just read me post and seen the '(nur DS4)' maybe it's DS4 only?

Also, does anyone have the P35C-DS3R running a quad at 3.6ghz, on air or water?
