got my 8500 le refurb... artifacts?....

64mb, came clocked at 250/250, bought it from newegg.

ok, problem is, i get artifacts on the screen all the time.

now when i use powerstrip to modify the clock and memory settings, (well, mostly memory) the artifacts go away?

i raised it to 253/260 and ran 3dmark, still got some artifacts, so i raised it to 260/270 and now no artifacts in 3dmark2k1.

anyone know of this problem or anything like it?

do you think i should keep the card (and keep it overclocked) or RMA it??


also, underclocking didn't help, only overclocking.

even if i leave core at 250 and raise mem to say, 253, 97% of the artifacts go away.

so what do you think?

are you referring to the +3.3 V ?

and its a good thing you said that cuz i just looked @ my voltages in MBM and my 3.3 is 3.1, my 5V is 5.9, and 12V is 11.2 not exactly optimal....

You could keep it but there is NO guarentee that it will last long.

it seems to be working fine at 260/ 265, and i wouldn't want to go too much higher until i get temp sensors to make sure nothing is too hot.

i was kind of leaning towards keeping it (only cost $65) but people are saying to return it (a pain)....

any reason to believe that it won't last??
