OK i haven't build my pc yet, but i have a Thermaltake v9 clear case
it has a 120mm fan on back. The top fan 230 mm but it needs to be fixed so currently its broken.
I am using a hyper 212 plus heat sink with 120mm fan on it, do u think this will keep my pc cool??
should i Fix it or buy a new case?

specs
2hdds
1100t
hd 6850

It might be fine, maybe get some more fans for your current case (it's cheaper than a new case) but I would try it out with your current setup and see how the temps are. What will you be using this rig for?

Hi ork,

It's hard to say, as it depends on many variables, including how hard you'll be pushing your PC and if it's OC'ed (and by how much). Having said that, it should be OK, but it wouldn't hurt to fix/replace that 230MM top fan when you can.

Post some pics if you can, we'd like to see it. :)

Edit: bradleyg sniped me :p

Its a 12v fan simply running on usb power. No need to plug it into usb you can simply cut the end off and wire it into a molex or other connector.

Maybe but from what ive seen of most laptop usb fans is they are 12v fans that have a ~4v startup and operate at 5v just fine.
