Dear all

I am not a serious OC and so at a great loss to go about what I want.

Anyway here are my main system specs:
ASUS P9X79 DELUXE, BIOS 3305, core i7-3930K, Corsair H80 cooler, 16GB 1866 Mhz G-SKILL F3-14900CL9-4GBXL (4 sticks of 4GB each bought as a kit)

My objective:
1, Get RAM to its rated speed of 1866Mhz.
2. Get CPU to like 4-4.2 Ghz (stock 3.2GHz).

The objective was previously achieved quite simply in the BIOS by enabling XMP and changing multiplier (all cores) to 41. However, since I updated the BIOS to 3305, one of the 2 is not being met with my extremely limited skills.

1. If my change to XMP1, ram gets to 1866. I can change multiplier to 41 but it is not saved and reboot brings it back to old values.
2. I can change AI tweaker to manual, change CPU mult to 41, and select RAM to 1866 MHz instead of auto. That causes no boot and I have go to BIOS again to select RAM to auto.
3. Select AI tweaker to manual, and change CPU mult to 41. This gives me CPU at 4.1 but RAM still at 1600 Mhz.

I would be grateful if someone aware of ASUS P9X79 bios and especially P9X79DELUXE BIOS updated to 3305 could help me with settings so that I can achieve my two objectives.

Regards

With Ai Overclock Tuner set to Manual, make sure Turbo Ratio is set to "By All Cores", change the multiplier to x41, DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1866, VTTCPU to 1.15V, DRAM timings to 9-11-9-29-2T (all sub-timings on Auto), and DRAM voltage to 1.50V.

.... then pray the cooling can handle it...

Thanks a lot for this. I will try this and am sure the cooling should be up to it. The ambient temps right now in Delhi, India are a max of 65F (20-21C) but they go up to 115F (45C) in the peak summer.

On the pre-BIOS update OC of 4.2 GHz and 1866MHz RAM, idle temps always stayed 40-50C and max was around 70.
