My computer crashed. I only have a very limited backup of what was on it. I think windows was corrupted and the drive is still good. I brought the drive to work this morning to plug it in one of my computers as a slave drive and copy everything off. After I installed it, it shows up in "My Computer" but when I try to access it, it says that it is not formated and needs to format.

Whats going on??? Would having the jumpers set wrong cause this? Someone please help me with this. I need to get other information off of this drive.

The drive is a samsung sv1204H 120gb ide drive. The ironic thing is I ordered a 320gb drive to do a full back up to a day or two before it crashed.

Thanks,
Matt

****Nevermind I tried some different jumper settings and now its working!!!
