Well since this year hasn't really started, I've only spent about $100 CDN on a 160 gig HD. Last year I built a new system. That came pretty up to 1000 CDN. Then I added another HD for about $100, two SATA converters at about $50 CDN each, a new video card for 265 CDN, keyboard mouse set for $71 CDN, Power supply for about 130 CDN and a temporary vid card for about $60 CDN I think.

Man you'd think with the amount of money we throw at these things, they could do us a favour and drop prices..maybe an overclockers discount or upgrade 10 times and the 11th is free.

Just changed my mobo, proc and video card. And got a TV Tuner.+ some fans and fan grills.I'm not sure about the total ,but I'd say arround 300-330 $.

Over $2,000 this year but then again, it's a completely new system. The only thing I didn't upgrade was my ~7 yr old 19" monitor. I even bought a new MS Natural multimedia keyboard and Logitech MX500 mouse.

Edit: The only thing from my old system is the 80gb WD drive but I think I bought that in '03 too.

abotu 600 bucks.. pretty much upgraded main parts and also added hardware.. only thing kept was gf3ti500, 12x burner, 40 gig seagate, and a 60 gig western digital.. still have the old parts as a htpc for the living room..

I too went over the 775$ with my P4 system. and I am still wanted to do mods to it. Right now I am at $2400 and going I want to build another system so I will see on that one too.

I will assume we are really talking about last year

I spent well over 750 on video cards alone

I think my count is over $3300. Probably half of that was from here in the forums and the rest probably at Newegg. I went on an insane buying spree in Q4 last year building machines.
