OK, so I have been researching here, there, and everywhere with alot of help from the OC Forums community. First off I would like to thank those which have thrown in their .02 cents. Second, I want to go back to the community and see how they feel about my decisions. I have provided links below to the system which I plan to build. Now if anyone has any great ideas of where I can find things for cheaper, better parts, left something out? etc etc please let me know. :) Also I am still looking for a nice quiet/powerful fan for that heatsink and am still unsure if it will fit on that mobo with my Lian-li inverted mobo case. Before we get started dont forget that I am bringing over my 7800GTX, OCZ Powerstream 520Watt PSU, 74gb Raptor, DVD/rw drive.. Any comments accepted. Thanks again.

U have a good Setup "trendx". With your air-cooling, good air-flow and some tweaks in bios u will be able to get your C2D @3.200-3.400 stable.

i cant give u an idea of better parts, cause i dont live in USA;)...u got better shops than we have:)

But for your SI-128: I got the Enermax UC-12AEBS.
Noise-Level: 16-37 dBA
Speed Range (RPM): 1000-2400
Airlow (cfm): 26.907-83.49

Hey trendx,

Only other rec I can give you is get a better heatsink. Maybe a big typhoon, Tuniq Tower, ThermalRight Ultra 120 or XP120? For $50 you can do better.

I don't see how the Big Typhoon or the XP120 is better.
As far as downward facing HS's its one of the best, a couple of the best tower HS's would edge it out a few degrees but would lack mobo airflow.

yes that was part of the reason i chose a downward facing one because that mobo relies on heatpipes as does the a8n32 im using right now and man that sucker gets hot. I figured by using that one i wouldnt have to use the optional fan that comes with the mobo. Also can anyone vouch for a good fan on frozencpu? I dont really want to order from more than 2 places :) I want a good mix between dba/cfm.

Well i heard its the same chips as the gskill ram or something, green knows alot more about it. None the less it has tight timings at a good speed.

How good is that ram? Although with the additional multiplier you won't need to go very high on the FSB.

They are D9's, someone found a pic of the IC's under the heatspreaders in the cyberdeals fourm.

Thermalright Ultra-120 is ONE of the BEST air coolers on the market. Sidewinder has about the best selection of fans anywhere on the net.

The P5W DH is a great MB, no question, and I use it. However I feel there are better. P5W64-WS is going to clock higher. With P5W DH, don't plan on running much about 400FSB daily if you want a stable rig. The P5W64-WS will do >450, has 4 PCIE slots and is just a better MB, it also cost more.

I have a 75gb raptor which im going to throw in it along with a hitachi deststar which is 160gb for the backup/storage drive. The gpu is a 7800gtx which i have, no sense in upgrading that right now.

Crucial 10th annyversary is guaranteed Micron D9GMH ICs.
expect to hit 500+mhz with 5-5-5 for sure.
I see people using this ram at 400mhz 3-3-3-10 2.4v
some higher some tighter, but with your 6600 3.6Ghz is the sweetspot(400mhz 1:1) and this ram will get you there with nice timings and at a nice price.
