Hi,

I was wondering if a 750w power supply is enough for my
system i'm working on.

Intel 3770K (Possibly OC in the future)
Cosmos 2 case
Asrock OC formula board
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB 1866 (PC3 14900)
EVGA 680 (Upgrading to 2 in the future for sure and overclocking)
Aquacomputer Aquastream XT USB 12V Pump

This is the power supply I already bought.

but now i'm having second thoughts.

I used this PSU calculator found on this site, and it said i would need a little over 750w if i were to get another 680, and this is without any overclocking.

I want a good enough PSU for future upgrades so I was wondering if I should return my current PSU I bought and get an 850w or 1050w since both are on sale now at newegg.

Thanks.

You're fine as you are, that Seasonic X750 is a very, very good unit and can easily run two GTX680s (200w each) and a 3770k.

this ^... seasonic makes the PSU with the steadiest rails on teh market, and that wattage is plenty, so you are great :)

I've heard seasonic make top notch power supplies. Will it be enough to run
two 680s(overclocked), 3770k (overclocked), I'm just really nervous I wont have enough power in the future. I see everyone having 1000w + psu's esp when they have custom water loops.

The biggest loop draw you will probably have is 50W or so and that is only from the pump... That PSU will be just fine for 2x 680s, a 3770, and a beastly loop :)

Thanks everyone for the help, I decided to go for the seasonic 1000w platinum. It was on sale, and I couldn't resist haha, almost done with parts gathering, just waiting for delivery:)

+1 Hella overkill and you could have saved some cash for something else, but a bangin unit (I have one!).

hahah i figured it was pretty excessive, but it was a good price. Thanks for the help everyone

ED,

Same one you had at the Pennsylvania LN gathering 18 months ago?
I had the 750W Seasonic there IIRC...I think I picked up the 1KW after (and only have seen 735W peak with CrossfireX 7970's overclocked to 1.3v at 1220Mhz/1700Mhz at 1.55v with 5Ghz 3770K at 1.52v on it, LOL!! Remember that's a 90% efficient PSU too so around 660W actual use).

EDIT: I paid $200 a hair over a year ago. ;)

And its $200 new now. Not such a great price Im afraid. :(

I remember that sukker's fan (X750) never ramped up with all the LN your poured into those boards. Made a mental note (hafta get one of those Seasonic X models). Awesome!
