I overclocked all my stuff years ago and really haven't touched or looked at it since, but now that my computer has started freezing in pretty much every game I decided to take a look at it. I ran memtest86 and noticed that it told me my ram frequency was 166mhz, which is also what cpu-z says, which I thought was low, but maybe it was incorrect info. Anyways here are my cpu-z screenshots, it lists my mushkin 1gig sticks as pc3200 when its pc4000. In my bios there is no place for fsb:dram ratio, and theres only 1 place that i saw to set dram frequencies, and the only choices were auto, 266, 320,400,500,533, so i put it on 266 because my fsb is running at 250 and that was the closest to it. Also my AGP/PCI Freq is set to auto, the choices are 66.66/33.33, 72.73/36.36, 80.00/40.00. If anyone can see any problems or have any suggestions please let me know.

notice half his ram is pc3200 the best he can run is 200(ddr400) without overclocking the ram
that is incorrect, all my ram is pc4000, its a misprint by cpu-z, which they say happens on their website due to bad configurations or something, i didnt really understand it. Here is the ram it says is pc3200:

Anyways, I just set the DRAM frequency to 500 and it wouldn't boot, and the next time it said overclocking failed, now im sitting in bios. dram voltage = 2.65v. upped voltage to 2.75, timings = 3-3-3-8(they were on auto by SPD or something), still no boot.

Configure DRAM timing by SPD: Disabled
DRAM CAS lat: 3
ras# pre: 3
ras to cas: 3
dram precharge delay: 8
dram burst length: 4
memory acceleration mode: auto
dram idle timer: auto
dram refresh rate: auto

cpu external frequency: 250mhz
dram refrequency: 500mhz
agp/pci frequency: auto
cpu volt: 1.65v
ddr ref volt: 2.75v
agp volt: 1.5v

cpu temp: 35c

on a side note: should i just take out my 512mb of OCZ?

ok it didnt boot at 400, it froze at my asus screen, then i rebooted, and it gave me some bad bios checksum error, rebooted again, said overclocking failed. just booted at 320 fine.
Frequency: 3250mhz
fsb speed: 1001mhz
cpu external frequency: 250mhz
dram frequency: 320mhz

^^what i'm at right now, sorry if i dont answer anyones questions correctly, just tell me, i have forgotten a lot about computers and a lot of this stuff is easy to mix up after being away from it for a few years.

i removed my 512mb of OCZ and now it boots at 400, but still not at 500. any suggestions?

edit:nevermind, it is far from stable at 400, im getting errors saying files have changed and to check for faulty hardware.
