SL6WU 12 cap >_<
pack date 4/12/04

so far.... tried to dual-prime at 240 FSB with any voltage (anything from default to 1.65) w/ 5:4 timing (4 sticks of crappy 512 Kingston ValueRam PC2700 at 2.75V and 2.85V) and nothin seems to work because they both return errors with less than 10 minutes.... anythin above 240 wont work, at 250 it restarts itself without loading windows

i have a p4p800 deluxe rev. 2...... slk947u w/ enermax 92mm on full (so about 65CFM).... thermalright nb-1 to cool the northbridge... im disappointed in this batch.... made in phillipines instead of the usual malaysia =( sigh maybe I'll see if I can swap these at fry's after further testin

any suggestions or things i should try before i try to swap?

p.s. running at 210 @ 1:1 rite now w/ default and workin so far... but 210 @ 1:1 is pretty sad for a 3.0C -_-... probably gonna try 220 in a bit

Even at the 5:4 ratio, you are running that PC2700 way out of spec, although you claim 210 at 1:1, so you'd think it would handle it. Try the 3:2 ratio to see if it's the RAM holding you back. Maybe even pull 2 sticks out and just temporarily try two sticks.

2x512 MB is said to limit the overclocking options...how about 4x512?

Updates BIOS, checked temps? Also, that 1.65v, is that a BIOS setting or a MBM reading?

1.65V was bios setting
reading under ASUS PC Probe or CPU-Z would give me about 1.6 or 1.62V i think

update: trying 235FSB 5:4 (memory at 188) at default Vcore and it has dual-primed for all night w/out error; load temp 44C according to ASUS PC Probe (though I've heard that ASUS reads lower than what it actuall is =/)

gonna keep trying and post the updates

you need PC4000 ram

Actually, it's not a bad idea to use whatever RAM you have on hand to test the limits of the mobo/CPU combo. That way it will give you a better idea of what RAM you really need. For example, if 240 is max, then PC4000 is sort of overkill and PC3700 might be better suited because of the better timings. Did you try using only two sticks and using the 3:2 ratio like I suggested?

:eh?:

nah not yet man
im now still testin
still doin 5:4 with 240FSB (1.56V, the step above default)
2.75V on vdimm at 192fsb 3-4-4-8

dual-priming for a few good hours now and its running fine
mite push it up a little more
maybe too much voltage in the beginnin wasnt good :eh?:
