I have been after one of these coolers for over a year
And finally managed to get one for the right price "0"

This unit was designed to deliver cold beer to 6 taps

started to open it up and see how it work
as you can see in the pic there is a large bath of water
with the beer heat exchanger that sits in the cold water

removed it and cranked up the temp control
as you can see ice formed very quickly

Ran it for half an hour and it got the coolant down to -18

And I am sure with the lid back on and some insulation
It will go lower

I still have to see what kind of temps I will get from the

Exchange lines as to weather I use them as coolant feeds

If the temps are to high im going to make a new lid

And pull feeds straight out the tank

i intend to use this tank to cool my sli setup, chipset and mofits on the mother and on the 7800

well i have now found out abit more
the tank will go down to -21

found that if the tank is running @ -18 the exchange lines
are running @ -15

i loaded the block using a electric paint stripper right up close and even after 5mins of load the exchange line held @ -4

Wow. Good find. That looks like it has some serious cooling capacity. How would you do it? Just run cold water through the beer pipes?

*edit* Ahh, I see now, those last pics wren't up when I hit the post button.

hehe i was trying to get the lot up befor any posts looks like i just beat you

Now that would be some extreme cooling! Keep a few PC's cooled below amboient temp and still get ice cold beer year round. :D

You should think about replacing that plastic water block.

It will crack at low temps, and you will have a case full of -18c coolant.

You have no need to worry fishy my friend it is only a test setup

And this is for demonstration purposes only

Thanks dude :)

One line for each gpu, and one for the cpu and chipset leaves you with lines for 2 kegs. Party at bazx's place!!

i have started to build an OC chamber to take the new setup

on top of the bench will be a box container big enough to hold the m/b which will have a clear top so i can see in and a hole big enough to allow an ln2 tube to pass through

the phase change for the 7800 will pass in throw the sides as will the water
cooling for mofets on the cards and chipset

an air con unit (see middle) will circulate the air in the chamber this will be a "closed loop" and as air tight as i can make it

hope you understood some of that :D it will make more sence as it comes
together
