what platform are you going to be running these on?? I ask because SB/IB dont really care about timing they are more about speed.
 
My current z68 ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z and I manly ask because they are the same price. Though I don't know much of how XMP profiles go, but I did read some people use these at 1600 but they probably set settings manually.

So I won't get into compatibility problems, I think I am better off just getting the 1600 and using XMP.

just a heads up, intel and most AMD chips don't care about CAS or RAM speed (though AMD chips generally care about it for overclocking... or they used to).

The only chip on the market that would see a difference in performance (and a significant one at that) is an AMD trinity...
