Hi all,

Quick question;

How long would memtest take to scan 2 x 2GB ddr3 sticks/how long is considered enough for testing?

General concencus among bandits is 24 hours, but it may not be truly stable. I had instances when memtest didn't fail, but PC crashes using bsod

I second what Taco is saying. I would test for a couple of hours in AIDA64, that usually gives me a good basis on if my memory is stable. Memtest by HCI designs is also another highly rated memory test, but I haven't really used it much.

Windows also has a built-in memory diagnostic tool. How does it compare to some of the freeware and commercial stuff out there? I don't know. But the third level test takes quite a while to complete.
