Hi,
I'm looking to build a mini ITX machine for travel i want it to be small and fit in a backpack for carry on in airplanes. Every where i travel to has monitor, but i also have a travel size monitor for hotels. i want it for work, and for gaming.

Any how i was looking at running:
AMD A10-7850K
MSI Mini ITX A88XI AC or ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+
8 gigs of DDR3 2133
a couple solid state drives
external blueray drive

I used a couple calculators and they esimate around 220 watts and 242 watts

I was curious if i could use like a 330W dell alienware power supply brick with some kind of adapter like ive seen for lower wattage designs.

Does anyone have any ideas of any products i could use to get a 300 watt PS in a tiny mini itx box?

Take a look at 1U rack server PSUs. As always, compact size comes at a premium, but you might be able to salvage one from a discarded server.
