Hello everyone, I recently just bought the parts for my AMD 3D Rendering and Gaming build. I was initially just going to put 8GB (2x4GB) of RAM in the PC, but I now see that my Mobo came with a free kit of 8GB (2x4GB) RAM. The problem is that the 2 RAM kits are different Manufactures.

Here is the Two Kits:
Initial Kit - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345
Free Kit - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313080

Both kits have the same Timings, but one is rated at 1.5 Volts and the other is rated at 1.65 Volts.

I would like to know if it would be safe to put these two kits together? And if it is safe, would having both in mess with my overall performance of just having One Kit in?

If they have identical timings but one needs 0.15 more voltage to run those timings, it does not look like it will be a good match. Looks like one would have to 'over-volted' or the other under-volted to run in the same computer at the same time.

If you already got these 2 kits then I would try if they will run together.
Probably both kits will run fine @1600 9-9-9 1.60V. There is always +/- 0.1V declared by manufacturers ( unless they make something wrong ;) ).
Board will read settings from 1st stick and will set all timings the same for all other sticks so there is no worry about timings. All available IC for lower clocked kits have similar sub timings so both these kits should run fine.

Both series should have some OC headroom so Team kit will probably run without issues on lower voltage keeping stock timings. Also Corsair kit shouldn't have problems running on higher voltage as all available IC have max safe voltage at about 1.8V +/-0.05V.

Running both kits together won't affect performance. It can only speed up if you are going to use lot of RAM. And it's also safe as I already said, just run some stability tests like Prime95 ( blend ), memtest86+ or windows version, Intel Burn Test ( set to 90%+ of free memory ) or some other tests.

That's of course if you are going to use 16GB RAM. If not then just sell one of these kits.

All this may be done, but do indeed take a fair warning. Putting in two different types of RAM especially at the same voltage may damage your computer. Anyways, very much good luck to you :)

Sorry, but that is not true. No damage will happen to the computer.
