Well I have gotten my eVGA 8800GT Superclocked today.

First thing I did was take off the stock cooler and install the Zalman Fatal1ty FC-ZV9 (used Arctic Ceramique on the core).

The stock cooler was easy to remove (11 screws) and the Zalman went on with no trouble at all, very simple anyone can do it.

I ran ATI Tool for 45 mins and then closed it before a screen shot
So I ran it again but just for a few minutes, temp was the same anyway.

55-56c was the highest it went!

I will do some benches and overclocking next.

ADDED:Crysis 1280x1024, detected everything should go High so all settings High, no AA

ADDED: 3dmark06 (specs in my sig)

What a beauty .... looks like the Zalman cooler is the way to go...
Start to OC that beast

Can't wait for mine to get here on Thu....did you get Quake Wars as well?

Pretty slick. Looks like the aftermarket cooler did wonders for it. Seems as if the single slot cooler is inadequate, at least for those who plan to OC.

Yes I did get quake wars :)

First post updated with Crysis info..

Cooler was $45

Hmmm $45...isnt the HR-03 like $41? I think I saw it for $41, and someone had a load temp of 47C with it
It's a shame these are voltage limited D: Imagine the possibilities ...

There will be a volt-mod in time I'm sure :D. The zalman's nice but these are nicer... I got two Thermaltake ND1's for about $40 each shipped... they look compatible:

Picture of it mounted on a 7900GT (Thermaltake ND1):

Pulls air over the MOSFETs from the bottom of the fan (also takes air in from the top :p nice big fan), goes through two-heatpipe/copper-base beefy beatsink, and out the rear of the system as an exhaust. It also comes with a few low-profile sinks should I need them for the MOSFETs in any case. It's designed for 7800/7900GT cards, uses just the four mounting holes around the core, so it should work fine. I'll update if I confirm it does.

You can find the zf900 cooler on newegg for a mere $33 if you don't mind giving up the cool fatal1ty look.

I posted this in another thread but Thermalright is releasing an HR-03GT specifically for the 8800GT's. Don't have an ETA but should be soon.

Thanks for the info.

I will see how GoldenTiger's overclocks go and then decide if I want to get something else.

Right now I seem to be maxed out on the core (710) and ram (975) shader so far is stable at 1688, working on 1700 now.

Not very high I know but I can't complain.

will you post a GPUz shot when you have all your max settings enabled please?

im trying to see what kinda of numbers these cards can put up.

kthxbye

Well I have reached my max overclock, might have to try another cooler down the road, I am thinking the ram needs better cooling, something like what Goldentiger is going to try.

Well here are some results, not to exciting.

Crysis was 1280x1024 no AA everything else was set to "High"

Oh yeah and max temp in ATI Tool was 60c at these clocks.
