Ok so I got some money to do a build a new pc to replace my current rig.

So this is what I have
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 4000+
Biostar 6100 socket 939 mobo
2x1 gb kingston value
evga 8600gts 512mb pci-e

New Build
BIOSTAR GF8200 M2+ AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Brisbane 2.3GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADO4400IAA5DO - OEM

CZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

I'm going to be using my video card and hard disk, DVD-burner and case.
Every one says I have a huge bottle neck with my current system. I still get lag spikes in WoW sometimes. I also play project reality and I'm trying to get it on all high with maybe some AA on 1680x1050.

Thanks guys. RATE AHEAD :)

Looks pretty nice for a budget-midrange setup... Should be able to do most of the eye candy in Project Reality @ 1680x1050 and hit 30-35fps... not too sure about AA... maybe 2x.

If you intend to RAID 0 those 3x 80GB, make sure you pick a 16k or 32k stripe size w/ that motherboard. I have the same chipset and the 64k stripe size was awful on my 2x 36GB Raptors. Definitely stick to BIOSTAR drivers as opposed to nVidia.

Thanks!

I also saw That the 9800gt's and 8800's are going down in price, I think i might pick one up for the new build.

The Tforce version of that board will give you more overlclocking options.

I'd get the 5000 black edition.

I'd look to get 4GB of RAM since it is so cheap now.

If I buy and 8800gt or 9800gt with that would it be a bottle neck then?

Your CPU would be the bottleneck, I agree with Jig, Get the 5000+BE and if you can afford it the T-8200 board and you can simply change the multiplier to 15x and you will be running at 3.0, My wife has the Biostar T8200 and the 5000BE and it's a pretty nice combination. When playing around with it I was able to get it to 3.2 without much sweat, However I have just left it at 3.0 for her day to day use.
