could the bios be fryed?
was it overclocked?
did ure son try and flash?

any other cards in slots u can remove?

heat sink needing reseat?

break out a voltm
and check the voltage of the cmos batt

I've had all sorts of problems on old boards that went away with a new $3 battery.

Might be worth dropping one in to see whether or not it helps.

easy to check volt of batt

also easy to pop in a new cmos chip
if ya can find one for that board
 
I miss my old NF7 rev2. It was the best board I've ever owned. It's still going strong though. I sold it to a friend, so I can go visit it once in a while lol.
 
I'd like to report that it was indeed the mobo that went bad. I was able to get another mobo and it booted up fine, got into the bios but after like a minute the dreaded two0tone siren came on. I think it;s the little blue diode under the cpu not making contact because the cpu temp reached 43 degrees in bios. Also had a problem detecting the IDE hard drives. I'll play around with the pc tomorrow.
