OC'd 3930K Watercooled Temps

I've heard 1.4v max is ok if there is adequate cooling and the temps are stable. Anything more is just too much, let alone 1.5v+.

WitchDoctor: Those temps you posted. the vcore and cpu (3930K at 5.1Ghz!) is that your 24/7 running specs?

No that is simply a benching clock, posted to show temps to the OP. Although it is not what he is running it is simply shows him where other 3930K are temp wise

Found these a 4.9 Prime and a 4.8 LinX load

Ambient temps were around 22C

Just an FYI, while Prime 1024 won't be good for testing stability it will get a CPU up to max temps for quick temp testing, nice for when testing fan and pump speeds and configurations

Okay thanks Withdoctor...all good info....I am able to get stable 4.9 Ghz with around 1.415v (Offset + .110v)....still wind up with load temps running LinX around 74c...

Why are your GFlops so low (almost reflects HT Off, but it looks like you were running 12 Threads), at 4.9 Ghz my GFlops is around 165 GFlops....could be problem size and Memory amount selected I suppose....I'm presently on my Notebook so can remember what I was using.

Yes that the jist I got out of the 3930K's as well....I have dome what Witchdoctor has posted as in 1.55v but just for a Bench run at 5 - 5.2 Ghz :-/

yea, mine won't do 4.9 24/7 with reasonable voltage

Not the greatest chip, 5.1 is max, ambient or cold

I think I got this Chip of mine back in Nov and have ben pretty happy with it....my previous 980X was a dud!!!!
4.7 Ghz good at 1.344v (Offset + .045v)
4.85 Ghz good at 1.398v (Offset + .095v)
4.9 Ghz good at 1.415v (Offset +.110v)

5 - 5.2 Ghz requires some huge jumps in vcore though....Offset Oc;ing is useless at these speeds and like your Chip to Bench requires 1.52 - 1.58v.....

I've acutally settled on the 4.7 Ghz for 24/7 now...

here is a stress test I ran doing both LinX and eVGA scanner , CPU at 4.691

^^^^ Yes very good Temps for sure!!! Last night I ordered a XSPC RX 480 Rad to replace my EX 360 up top.
Will leave the EX 360 down below and also add another EX 240 down below.
So when I rip this Loop apart in a month or so I'll also disassemble the EK Supremacy and put in the 2011 Jet Plate.....
We'll see if all this pulls my Temps down a little more......OCD sucks ;)

Changed out Loop a bit this past week:
1. Swapped out top XSPC EX360 with RX 480 ver3 push only
2. Added another EX 240 below with EX 360
3. Re-orientated CPU Block to accommodate Tube runs
4. Added BP "Black Sparkle" D5 Mod Kit
5. Changed out white LED in Rez for Blue LED
6. Added additional BP Drain Valve under GPU's (now Loop has 2 Drain valves).

...all up n running agan...temps about 4c cooler across the Board (GPU's and CPU)...a little quieter as well, but its starting to get very warm in my upstairs Office, as in around 25c - 27c by late afternoon early evening.....good Marathon gaming this afternoon BF4 and GPU's peaked at 49c and 47c ;) CPU peaked at 62c om one Core...

I have also "down-clocked" my 3930K from 4.9 Ghz to 4.7 Ghz (1.344v)...summer-time clocks...GPU's still +145 Mhz Core +233 Mhz Memory Power Target 108%

^^^ Took about a week for all the Micro Bubbles to completely clear....each day I'd tap my Rez as well with a little rubber pair of pliers and cycle the D5 to Max for a minute or so.....all clear now though, running the D5 at 3200 RPM ;)
I can also report that the Max thickness of a Rad in push / pull on the top of a 900D with a RIVE is 56mm....my RX 480 ver3 in push / pull "just" clears the EPS 12v connectors on the top edge of the Mobo.....
.....Awesome temps now though for sure with this arrangement!!
