Yes, once again it is time to overclock another socket 939 CPU.

This time up on the test bench is the AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice E6 stepping (ADA3200DAA4BW).

I'm starting this one out the same way I always do, seeing how fast it can go at stock voltage, and then raising the voltage up to go further.

2.0GHz (stock): 1.3-1.31V (1.35)
2.4GHz: Not tested
2.5GHz: Not tested
2.6GHz: Not tested
2.7GHz: Not tested
2.8GHz: 1.38-1.39V (1.425V)
2.9GHz: 1.6V (1.5Vx110%=1.65V)
3GHz: 1.57-1.58V (1.5V x 107.2%=1.608V)* SLI-DR Expert 1.57-1.58V (1.475x110%=1.6225V) ** SLI-DR
3.1GHz: 1.72-1.73V (Not for the faint of heart, do not attempt to use this voltage with a stock cooler, you will need an upgraded cooler to use this voltage or you will destroy/kill your CPU.) It was not fully stable, but it ran, sort of.

I was kind of going all out when I tested this due to being in a competition for this CPU, so I kind of skipped most of my normal testing procedures. I'm assuming with stock voltage mine would go to somewhere around 2.5-2.6GHz though based upon the voltage needed for 2.8GHz. I have no idea why I have a higher voltage for 2.9GHz than for 3.0GHz, I'm guessing there's a typo there somewhere.

As always your results may vary from my own, and do not expect identical results, even with the same model of CPU. Yours may require more or less voltage, or might not run at the same speeds at all.

3.1GHz: 1.72-1.73V

That is some ultra high voltage, but not really uncommon.

This is it here? http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2568842

Curious, no mention of your cooling here?? Air is it?? If so I gotta say you got a really decent clock from it!!!

Here's mine from back when...for comparison purposes! http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1688626

3032mhz on 1.65v. Pretty sure from memory it didn't have more in it without some chilling......

Nice run TechTweaker! Keep it up~

Yes, that was it. Yes, air cooling. Thermalright Ultima 90 with fans in push-pull.

3.1GHz: http://hwbot.org/submission/2326185...quency_athlon_64_3200_venice_s939_3135.17_mhz

Thanks, I was pushing it a bit as far as what air cooling could handle.

I think a water block would do you wonders seeing that you have the time to invest into a proper overclock. It's worth it for chilling purposes without going sub 0 temps, you can get close to freezing instead.

Me I like sub zero. A TEC run here with a Venus E4 146 Opty Reached 3399mhz, I had fun :D.
