Hi my question is about speedfan and my CPU so i hope its alright to post here! firstly im very new to overclocking and my first question about speedfan is: what is the temp at the bottom of the list? mine reads 20c (cpu), 35c(system), 42c(???). what is an okey temp for this last ???? temp. thats idle btw under load (crysis) cpu = 30 system = 36 and ??? = 54. this is stock settings

when i overclock the cpu from 3.4 to 4.08 and the memmory from 667 to 800 the ??? temp only increases under load from 54 to 56-57.

my question about the cpu is how far can i push it and the ram is there an amount i should stop or is it more of a matter of temperatures?

cheers for any help!

Try a program like CPUID HWMonitor to monitor your current temps, and then compare those w/ what Speedfan shows. HWMonitor gives a better indication, as compared to Speedfan, of current CPU, PWM, Chipset, etc. temps.

HWMonitor 1.08

Make sure to download the correct version depending on your CPU's architecture. You could also try PC Wizard 2008, also created by the CPUID folks...
