Platinum owners? OC ability?

you can run the 512mb corsair XMS pc3200c2, i thought that the board could only handle the pc2700, if it can handle the 3200, i might look into that.

I've heard some pretty good overclocks from this board, also some people who say they only got 100MHz OC MAX. Mine is still locked, so I have yet to see its full potential.

Well my 2600+ is running at 2397 Mhz without problem, air cooled with a coolermaster HCC-001 hsf setup (idles at 36 C) on a Dragon 333 platinum:cool:

I own one of the KT333 U.P.s

2200+ AMD XP running at 2.134Ghz using Thermaltake Volcano 7+ and a lot of cold air in my apartment. It's at about 89F on the avg. during game play.

Soyo makes a great board and if you are thinking of getting one, you will not be disapointed at all.

Enjoy if you do.

I believe my signature says it all as far as my OC experience with the KT333 Platinum board. I will add that the CPU is a 333 fsb version, but since the board doesn't have a 1/5 divider for the PCI bus I couldn't run the chip at its specified 12.5 x 166 fsb setting. I therefore cut the 4th and 5th L3 bridges which gives me the 16.5 and up multipliers. I can't get an fsb higher than 142 to run reliably though and at the 16.5 multiplier setting I have to hard boot the computer every time rather than just "restart." Also, at the 17 x 141 fsb setting I get BSOD's when I run programs with intense 3D graphics (such The Sims or SimCity 3000) and when I try to fold (though SETI seems to run fine). I usually keep the computer at 17 x 138 fsb which gives me no problems at all. Oh, yeah, the CPU voltage is set at 1.80, DDR voltage at 2.7.

Hope this helps.

:burn:

Just bought the Soyo KT400 ultra Plat ed. Won't boot. Power comes on but no BIOS no POST. The only thing on there is a AMD 2100+, Asus V3800 and Mushkin PC2700 RAM. The manual does say that it only supports AGP of 1.5v...anybody know if Asus V3800 runs at this voltage? Any ideas?

I don't know about the ASUS card, you'll have to check their web site for that info. However, I do know that the KT333 Dragon Platinum board is the 3rd one I got since the first two were DOA. Is that a possibility in your case. I have been told informally by a computer tech. friend of mine that on average they expect about a 20-25% DOA rate on new MB's.

Beast_USA, do you have a CPU of 0.13 or 0.18 micron?

Sorry don't know
easy way to check?

2400+@2,282 (338fsb)
13.5X169 v1.750
46C idle 48-49C load (on die temp ..... on chip 7C cooler))

Well, I've been trying to find out if all Palaminos are 0.18 micron and all Tbreds are 0.13 micron. If this is true, yes it's easy to distinguish. The Palaminos have the OPN and stepping code on the die. While the Tbreds have them on a label off to the side.

it's a tbred a 2400 266fsb

I believe the pal stop at 2200+

My new memory setting in the bios!!!!!!!!

right know as I type 2400+@2,310 (fsb342)
13.5X171

So far so good

One strang thing it got cooler? at 171 44C on die:bang head

Only changed a few memory setting
No more air 67F room temp

I hope this isn't the signs of death? LOLOL

Trying to get to 2.4 (3000+) 90mhz to go!!

My O/C

With The Soyo KT333 Ultra Dragon Platinum,AMD XP 1800 Thouroughbred,WD 80gig HD,Radeon 7500 64DDR video,256mb 2700 crucial memory, I'm able to Get 12x164=1.968ghz. Running stable at 37c idle temps and 42 with a load. Using a Taisol cmk702151a Heatsink which seems to be cooling very well. I dropped my ram to 133 mhz as someone in here said they've done and that has seemed to work with it going up to 164 with my overclock on the fsb. I'm pretty excited about the O/C beings this is my first time. Thanks for all the info from the different post, it has been very helpful.
