It should, yes. The clamping voltage of a MOV is a slippery number though.
A random MOV part number pulled up from a protector teardown I saw shows it to have a max safe voltage of 130VAC, conductance begins at ~200vac (1ma), and the test voltage (at 50a) is 340v. Which one is the clamping voltage?
