what do ya think?

all help is appreciated.... thx!

Well you DVD-RW drive isn't exactly a DVDRW. It is a CDRW, with a DVDROM, as a combo. So if you actually want a DVD-RW, then I suggest looking for a new drive. If you don't need a DVD-RW, then drop your DVDROM drive and just get this combo drive.
I don't know about the other stuff though :)

zip

What is it going to be used for? Everything looks pretty compatible... should be an awesome system

The DVD-RW Drive

Model: Sony Beige 52X32X52X16 Combo Drive

Price: $44

URL: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-106-818&depa=0

That's not a DVD RW!! There is absolutely NO POINT in getting a CD-RW/DVD combo and then getting ANOTHER DVD!!!!!! This is important. This is only a combo meaning that it can only READ DVD's not record them. It can record CD's. The other drive you got is a DVD with the exact same speed as this one. There is no point in doing this. Get a DVD-RW and keep the CD-RW/DVD combo (the one I quoted above) The point in this is to get faster speeds for recording CD's and faster DVD playback, while having a DVD-RW that can record DVD's.

The hard drive is good, but you will DEFINITLY need more space. You see, hard drive manufacturers count 1 GB as 1000MB insted of its actual value (1024MB) Windows, recognizes a GB as its regular value (1024MB). All applications also recognize 1GB as 1024MB and not 1000MB. This means, you're not acutally getting 36.7GB's. Also, windows itself with all the needed components and other things eats up at least another 5 GB's. You'll only have about 25 or a few more GB's for your applications! This is very little space!!! A game like Far Cry requires more than 5GB!!! About 4 games, and that's it, you're done. Over. So, get a bigger hard drive. Keep this one, it's a good, fast drive, but get another SATA one with at least 80GB for storage. Install Windows on the smaller drive, also install some of the applications you need a fast hard drive for. Then use the other drive for storage.

I can see you're going for extremely high overclocks, voltages and FSB... I mean, that RAM, and the processor. They just have OVERCLOCK ME written all over them. :)
If you have the money, you should consider getting phase change. If you don't, then I guess water is enough.

Now, I can see you're really going for looks. A good looking setup is nice. That rad is way overpriced, IMO. It might look nice, but it's just way too small, and not capable enough for its price. Get a heater core. Dtek has some good, cheap, and good looking heater cores. If you're not going for looks (which is probably not the case looking at your other components) go to dangerden.com, and get their double heater core. It would be "ugly" in your all clear setup, but it does the job fine. If not, get one of these:
http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=103

It's cheap, it's beautiful, and you'll get much better performance than that black ice pro.

The pump - I don't think that would be powerful enough for all of this. With the money you saved on the rad, I'd go with a better pump. Get an eheim 1250. Much more dependable, quiet, and better performing. If it's too big for your tastes, you should look into the hydors 30,35. I'm not very familiar with hydors, but you would need more head pressure and GPH. My vote goes for the eheim 1250 and you could get one pretty cheap at dangerden.com.

CPU waterblock. Don't get it. It SUCKS!!! Way too expensive for the bad performance. Get a white water. It will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than that koolance crap and it EVEN COSTS LESS!!!111 Add that to the money you saved from the rad, and you could get an MCP600 pump which would be really nice for your setup! You can get a white water at dtekcustoms.com. Do some research on compatibility though. It should fit on that mobo/cpu. They have it for all kinds of systems. Just get it, ok? I don't want to see you wasting 60 bucks like this. On the other hand, you could donate them to me because I am poor and I am trying to help you :) :p

Vid card block should be compatible with card. They x600 are just like 9600's, so yeah, you can get that block. Get it from the original makers though. Frozen CPU sell stuff way overpriced. Danger den (IMO the best place to get water cooling stuff) has it for much cheaper:
http://dangerden.com/mall/blocks/maze4gpu.asp
The money I save you, you could donate to me. I would gladly accept any donations because I'm pretty broke right now

For the chipset block, I think it should be compatible as well. Yeah, I think it should fit. That danger den block fits on almost all motherboards... actually I haven't seen one it doesn't fit on, but I'm sure if you look around, you'll find a mobo it doesn't fit on. :p You could get that from frozen CPU because the prices are the same... it doesn't really matter. It's your choice.

Other than that, that should be a pretty good system. When you build it, take pics and make a thread about it so we can all enjoy it! :)

Umm i heard some bad things about that case. Fingerprints out the wahoo, and something like you have to take the whole mobo out to just get inside of the case :-\

thx for all that! im about to check in to all the changes you reccomended. i really would donate u the money i save, but its not actually my money so i cant.

i have another question.... the white water waterblock, i read the guide on how to mount it and it said to take the heatsink cage off, on prescott cores and the lga775 isnt the heatsink core directly connected to the core. basically what i am asking is, will taking the cage off kill my cpu?

I'm not completely sure I understand what you're asking. You have to take the cage off almost all motherboards to mount a water block. Some water blocks don't require taking the cage off, but most do. It's shouldn't be a problem at all though because as long as the heatsink/water block makes good contact with the core and has a thin layer of thermal compound inbetween it and the core, it'll work just fine. It doesn't matter if the cage is removed or not.
I'm not really sure on compatilbility though. You can always make a custom metal plate that you could mount over the water block with holes drilled over where the holes in the motherboard are so that you could mount it.

thx, how hard would it be to make a custom mount(if i have to)? im inexpeirienced with stuff like that so the easier the better. i really dont have much of a toolkit either.

Well, it wouldn't be that hard. All you would need is a drill, a mounting kit (which comes with the block, and some tough material you can use to hold the water block down firmly from all ends with equal pressure.
All you would have to do is drill 3 holes in the middle for the barbs, and then 1 hole in each corner directly over the motherboard holes. Pretty easy if you could find good material that won't break the block (you shuold get aluminum top) or it won't break itself.
Should be fairly easy. I'll try to use my 1337 pain skillz to show you sort of what it has too look like :D

Alright, here's my 5 minute job: :D
If it's blurry, click on it to make it larger.

ehh better? this think has OC written all over it :D the ram deffinetly wont be limiting my overclock and my goal is 4 ghz stable.

wowowowsa. thats some crazy stuff. BE SURE TO TAKE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It shoudl look awesome. My advice would be to get a quality monitor. In my opinion, NEC make some of the best monitors, but then again, they are pretty expensive. I noticed that you went from an LCD to CRT. that is your choice. but anyhow it should be a killer PC. Dont forget to take the pics.

In my opinion, NEC make some of the best monitors, but then again, they are pretty expensive. I noticed that you went from an LCD to CRT. that is your choice. but anyhow it should be a killer PC. Dont forget to take the pics.

i promise to take pics when i get my hands on a digital camera. (my old one died)

the reason i went from lcd to crt was to fit under a certain budget i had, if i had the extra dough i'd deffinetly get an lcd. i will in the future upgrade to lcd but for now ill live with crt.

edit: speaking of upgrades, im gonna start saving up for a prommy!
