I have Sid Meier's Gettysburg and want to play it for old times' sake. (I loved the game, the civil war is awesome!) When I install it and play it, it says "not a valid win32 application". I'm thinking the game came for Winblows 98, but I don't remember.

Any way to make it work on a newer OS?

Yeah, right click the .exe, goto properties, compatibility, "run as winblows 98."

Or search for a patch, may or may not work doing the compatibility way.

You need the patch.
If you have a patched disc it will be on that. If not you can get it somewere on the web or email me and I can send it to you. It runs just fine under XP with the patch. You don't need the compat mode for the game.

*Goes off to play a battle*

Win XP has all sorts of compatibility modes under start menu/help & support/fixing a problem/
