PSU or motherboard

It looks like a defective ceramic cap exploded.

Some newer PSUs do in fact connect the 5Vsb to the main 5V rail and then switch off the standby converter. It gives them a slight efficiency improvement.

To be on the safe side, RMA both the motherboard and PSU.

Thinking about this a bit more. Since I have 3 of these PSUs, I think I'll keep this one for the secondary PSU on my mining rig. It only needs 2 pins from the 24 pin connector to hook up to the 2-to-1 PSU adapter, and it is only supplying 12V to the video cards. And I can take the one I had been using as the secondary PSU and sell it with a clean conscience.

Well, I've got enough bitcoin to get the EVGA G2 1300W unit.

Anybody have any reason I shouldn't get this one? I'll pull the trigger Monday evening if nobody speaks up.

Pulled the trigger on it. I'm close enough to FrozenCPU that it should get to me by Wednesday.
