I have a Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H.
I'm going to be installing a Crucial M4 as my OS drive this week. I have been using a RAID 0 setup but it's just time for more speed.

Now, I know you have to use SSDs in AHCI mode, but I was wanting to be able to also use my RAID again for increased speed on storage. If I cant do it through the motherboard, then no big deal. I'll just do without, because I don't want to use a RAID card.
Anytime insight will be greatly appreciated.

No reason the SSD cannot run as an unassigned drive with controller set to raid. I have 4 or 5 drives running as unassigned drives with the controller set to raid. Been doing it for years. That way if I really do decide to do raid...I already have the drivers in the O/S. Nothing but a thing really.
