The chips determine a large part of how far the ram will go... crappy pcbs will hold good chips back, but the best pcbs wont let chips go any further than their max.

I dont know about the geils. I doubt it due to their unfortunate reputation. But maybe. Geil buys chips, grinds off the labels and remarks them as lower ns, Im told.

I have Geil Golden Dragon Dual 2x256 CAS2 PC3500 chips. Are those BH-5's, and how can I tell anyways if it's BH-5's? Also, what is the real significance of that chipset?

look at the model # on the chips themselves, it should tell you.
