Hey,

I think I narrowed the source for my BSODs while overclocking down to a faulty memory stick.

Stick #1

Stick #2

The RAM is 2x 4GB Corsair ValueSelect DDR3-1333 DIMM CL9 Single

Should I just get another one to replace the defect stick or would it be time for an upgrade? I cant find my RAM in that list: http://www.msi.com/file/test_report/TR10_2226.pdf however the PC ran for 1.5 years now.

Those two appear in the list:

http://www.mindfactory.de/product_i...HyperX-Beast-DDR3-1866-DIMM-CL9-Dual-Kit.html (not in list but looks good for the price)

Or 16GB
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_i...ill-RipJawsZ-DDR3-1600-DIMM-CL9-Quad-Kit.html (not in list)

My cooler is a Scythe Mugen 2, I didn't check for the clearance yet.

I mostly game and do some occasional video editing with after effects and premiere pro.

Any suggestions welcome :)

Wow that was a fast reply :)

So before I spend another 25€ on 1333er it's good to get 1600Mhz? The Ripjaws look good and aren't too expensive with 50€. If I don't find something cheaper and they fit my cooler I'll get myself a 8GB kit. 16GB would be overkill I guess?

Edit: wow that's a tempting deal: http://www.amazon.de/G-Skill-Arbeit...LG/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1363002162&sr=8-10 if I could make use of 16GB. Dont know

Yves, i posted that in my other thread. @ 1.507 V I got 20 errors within the first 30 seconds.

I ordered the 16gb kit should arrive today. But I can try 1.55V before and see if that helps

Try lowering the DRAM voltage back down to 1.50-1.52V, and instead bump the CPU I/O voltage from 1.048V to ~1.06V.

I already went for the 16GB Ares kit, and was pleased to actually see a (slight) performance gain in video editing, however the increase wasn't high enough to justify the extra money I spent on the 16GB so I'll bring that back and just order a new 4GB stick to replace the faulty one.
Your suggestion is appreciated :) but I can afford going for the new stick and feel "safer" compared to bumbing voltages to counter my failing RAM.
