Restoring an ipod... how long?

how long should it take, i just got one off a friend and i decided to restore. and its been like 15 mins. it still says do not disconnect. i dont kno if its a generation 2 or 3, but its a 10gig.

What do you mean restore?
If you mean that its plugged into your comp updating then just move the icon to the trash in itunes and you will be fine. If its in the wall, it will say that until the charge in complete but if you unplug before that nothing bad will happen.
