Wow how many times is this post going to be necroed? To add to this, I actually installed a portable AC in my garoffice, (converted most of my garage into an office). I ran an insulated pipe the diameter of the exhaust hose of the AC into the attic, and hooked the AC's exhaust hose up to that. Has worked rather well for 2 years now, Fortunately the humidity stays pretty constant in my now office, so I'm not dumping too much extra humidity into the attic.
