For those that have mounted either an 800u or 900u, please post your experience re: socket/black aluminum frame contact.
I have an 800u mounted on an A7N8X Deluxe, and the black aluminum frame makes contact with the high side of the processor socket prior to the spring screws bottoming out. By design, it looks as though the black frame should be free-floating between the springs and the HS, not wedged at an angle, even though slight, by the socket contact. The concern is an uneven load on the CPU core.
The HS is mounted per Thermalrights instructions, using only the larger plastic spacers between mobo and stand-off. There may even be enough pivot between the HS and frame that an uneven loading isn't an issue.
I'm not stating this is a problem exactly, but more wanting to know if this is a common occurrence with these HSs mounted on AMD boards, and if you have noticed a problem with it.
