Does anyone have a TRUE HD-7970 Video Card??? I google R9-280x and have many sites that say it's just a rehashed HD-7970 GHz Edition... I try to flash my busted Toxic (BIOS #1) to a HD-7970 but the card no work with that BIOS..

Anyway :) I have 2 HD-7950's and 6 R9-280x's -> When Benching, Driver Version 15.7.1 or Current under GPU-Z reports my HD-7950's as 7950's and not as Radeon R9-200/HD-7900 Series. Nor are my R9-280x's listed as Radeon R9-200/HD-7900 Series.

I can not call FOUL at the BOT -> :chair: -> HD-6950 complaints  I know the HD-7950/70 (Tahiti GPU) was later used in the R9-280/280x and R9-380/380x (different name??) I do know that there are a LOT more point's for a good HD-7970 run than a R9-280x run.. -> This is just another fight that I can't win???

I have, well had, the SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB card. It failed on me recently. What information are you looking for?

I had heard that a HD-7970 GHz Edition was basically a R9-280x or a R9-280x was basically a HD-7970 GHz Edition. I complained at the Bot that a HD-6950 Unlocked to a HD-6970 was a HD-6970 in all BUT name. It had the Full ROP's,TMU's, and Shaders of a HD-6970 but was called a HD-6950 This is from the information reported by GPU-Z.
Looking at some of the scores submitted for a HD-7970 Multi-card setup, THEY only list the 1st card. GPU-Z reports that the system has a AMD Radeon R9 200/HD 7900 Series Video Cards installed. I do not own a HD-7970 BUT I have several R9-280x's and HD-7950's. When I bench my HD-7950's - They are not listed as R9-280's. Can Someone upload a GPU-Z screen shot of a HD-7970 video card??? There should not be a R9-200/HD-7900 Listed.

Thank You

They are exactly the same card. The R9 has slightly higher clocks, and a new name. They use the same drivers. Newer ones ID the cards the same.
Therefore, HWB combined the two categorys. You're wasting your time being a loophole looker. This battle has been fought 100 times before you brang it up. Same with the 6950 to 6970 deal.

If my GPU hadn’t failed, I’d take a screenshot for you. My mobo doesn’t even register the card. Sorry I couldn’t help you out there.
