Switch CPU's

I have a MB that I will be using a Phenom II 1090T CPU to update the BIOS on for FX CPU's, question is: Will I need to reinstall the OS when I put a 8 core CPU in or will the OS pickup the 2 extra cores?
Guess I could just do it and find out





MB: GA-880GA-UD3H Rev 3.1
CPU for BIOS flashing: PII 1090T
Upgrade CPU: FX-8150

You shouldnt need to re install your windows for just a CPU change.

Yep, I kinda figured that, I never had to think about that in the past when I worked with single core CPU's

No, you shouldn't need to do an OS reinstall but you may need to do a cmos reset in order for the board to assimilate the change.
