Purchased an acer laptop off ebay a month ago. t2310 (merom core 533fsb 1mb 1.46ghz) 2gb and 160gb it has x3100 and 965 chipset.

I studied some of intel data sheets and it seems that to get a 667fsb all I had to do was change bsel1 to HIGH (533mhz is bsel0 high and bsel1 low 667 is bsel0 high and bsel1 high).

I wire modded the socket like the old socket A type wire mods. It didnt work. Still a 533 fsb. The chip should easily to 166fsb as it is a 11x multi which would only take the chip to 1.83ghz. I tried both a small copper wire and a small aluminum wire.

Do I have to cut the bsel1 pin and then wire-mod the socket???? Anybody ever tried this?
