Have any tirdents/samsungs to try and improve your ddr3 sub? If not, can you beat my ddr4 sub or have ddr2 you can do? I could do ddr2 but then we don't have another ddr4 sub to replace mine.

I have 4266 DDR4, IM not very good at overclocking memory.

Want to give your ddr4 a try? If you can beat my sub, I can do ddr2 or ddr3 (I should be able to get 2850-2900 on ddr3).

Manually set your timings to the values in my sub (leave all other subtimings on auto), Sa/io to 1.40/1.40 and see if you can boot the 4133 strap with 100 bclk. Should only take 1.4-1.45 vddr. After successful post, start raising bclk and vddr. Once in Windows, try raising those 2 a little at a time so you start working your way up to higher bclk. Reboot and try to get it posting at the last bclk you got working. Repeat until you can't post/boot any higher then raise bclk in windows again.

Pita with all the rebooting but if you work your way up a little (+2 bclk) at a time, you should eventually get something decent. You'll end up running your ram at around 1.985-ish in bios.

Just my POS 4690K that only clocks to 4.4GHz with 1.29v @80°C under load, though I've not pushed it that hard since it was in my main PC. Probably can't beat Console's 4670K at 4.89GHz though.

Console needs to redo his Geekbench sub by the way, it doesn't show the Memory tab.

This 2500K likely has more speed in it, but 4.7GHz is the highest I've gone for so far. I'm new to LGA1155 overclocking on unlocked processors, and don't know what they can handle yet. Speaking of which, anyone know what the maximum safe voltage for a Sandybridge chip with air cooling is? I'm at 1.42-1.44v right now (it varies in the OS).

I wish I'd got on the stick sooner to run the benches and upload some submissions. Been busy lately doing hardware testing and repairs (some for customers (can't complain too much on that point, as I like making money, and I haven't had many customers in recent months and years), and some for myself for resale).

Card's only on air and something's really, really wrong with my cpu (score)...what the heck?? Could 4c/4t vs. 4c/8t explain the difference (don't think 7x64 vs XP64 would do it?)? I know aq3 only uses 4c but still :/ BTW- TT...I apologize! My card's an 8800gt not gts. Iirc...you have a gts? If so...that'd be great to run if you felt the urge!

Hopefully will figure out the cpu issue and have time to take it and the card cold and give it another run. That said...am thinking we might be better off if I try to fill in some vga gaps using the 7700k. These are the ones that look useful for us atm:
- 780Ti/FSE (TT already covered this card but I should be able to improve with the extra cpu muscle. I'll focus on the other cards first)
- HD4850/3dm6
- gtx980/3dmv (only 4c/8t )
- gtx285/3dm1

Thinking the gtx980 first as it'd complete that stage for us? Then gtx285 followed by the hd4850?

Regrettably no, I don't have an 8800 GTS. I have an 8800 GTX, and 8800 GT 512MB, and an 8800 GS 384MB (which was regrettably dead when I tested it, probably killed by heat as it was running hot when it was in my dad's PC), and an 8600 GTS that doesn't appear to like overclocking very well (was scoring 190-205K when I tested it though). I had an 8800 GTS 320MB years ago, but sold it probably 4-5 years ago (it was artifacting badly anyway).

As far as the hyperthreaded vs non-hyperthreaded issue, some benches with limited thread usage (say 4 or less) ran much more efficiently with only 4 threads enabled in my testing of it. Also found the same on a game I was playing recently, it ran much more efficiently when I disabled HT (even at the same core speed), think it was DOOM (2016 edition). I had to open up Task Manager to see which threads it was hitting on (you can see this in Windows 7, but it doesn't show the individual thread usage in 8/8.1/10 (annoyingly)), then I set affinity to only run on those threads and it ran much more efficiently then (or disable HT in the BIOS). I think it was threads 1/3/5/7, but it might have been 0/2/4/6, it was one of those two orders of threads.

I liken it to restricting a flow of water by necking it down to a smaller pipe/smaller channel. It flows much faster when you restrict it, if you have a wide open area it can flow lazily, or in this case the processes can bounce from thread to thread (which in some applications is inefficient if it isn't written to take advantage of additional threads, so there is additional lag time from the program waiting for a thread/core to pick the process back up and continue towards the goal (be that running a benchmark, a game, or some other program). At least that's what I gather from my testing of it, someone like Dolk who actually knows a lot more about something like this than I do might disagree though.

I'd say disable HT and re-run the benchmark to see what difference you get, but I'd venture to guess that it will go up with HT off.

Oh good, someone has a 4850, was hoping someone had that or some other 4000 series card. Didn't think I'd be the only one on the team that could find one (I actually have a 4870 and a 4850, just went with the 4870 because it scored much higher and we had no other subs for that stage.).

I have my GTX 260 plugged into my 1155 board, plan to do some testing on that and see what it's capable of as I don't remember ever trying to overclock it. Though it's been three or four years since I used that card probably, so I may have overclocked it before and forgotten about it.

Hope to run a 7350k cold tomorrow. Will set it to 2c/2t and see what can be done. Hopefully will get to try the 7700k again late next week or weekend so can revisit it then (although may try gtx285 and/or gtx 980 first). Shooting for 6.8-ish with that chip but cache/etc may hold it back from posting up a decent cpu score?

Athlon 64 X2 4800+, Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Toledo (or Manchester, which doesn't overclock as well), Opteron 165 (if Opteron's are allowed) (also have an X2 4400+, but that won't help since we already have one up).

Do you need your REX back, or do you have another working board you can run 775 on?
