Thanks guys. That was an interesting read. I wonder if anyone considered changing the water flow across the fins instead of inline with them. Obviously, the issue of flow resistance would have to be balanced out, not to mention the $64,000 question of how to snip out segments of adjacent fins without trashing them, but imagine the effect of all those broadside collisions between the water and the fin segments.

If the fins were staggered that would be very interesting, It woudl restrict massive amounts of flow that It probably wouldnt do you much good.
