One thing I would like to contest:

You did NOT turn up the settings on bf 1942 to MAX and see 30fps. That would include 6xaa, 8x as, 1600x1200res. My 9700pro cannot keep 30fps at those settings.

Ok let me clear this one up, MAX settings for me are 800x600 (15" moniter here @ 85hz) NO AA (never liked it), 8x Aniso and the game set to high details with all effects on. Runs smooth as a baby's butt! The reason I dont play in 1024x768 is my POS monitor only displays @ 60hz and that hurts my eyes over time. Hope that makes more sense, when I say MAX settings I was refering to the games level of detail (HIGH).
